Do you love miso and wish to make your own?
In this class, we will teach you the basics and key points of making miso. Once you understand the basics, you will be able to enjoy making your original miso by applying variety of beans and amount of salt at home.
In the first half, you'll learn about koji and various koji-based products. In the second half, we'll move to the kitchen for a hands-on miso making. Participants will make and take home a quart-sized jar of miso, which will then be fermented at home for 1 year. At our Miso Making Class, we usually teach our best-selling White Miso but in this class, we will teach our award-winning Country Miso for the first time.
At the end of class, we will eat onigiri and miso soup together!
